Styrofoam Reuse

Our green roof growing medium is made up of roughly 70% recycled styrofoam, repurposing what is otherwise a harmful and resilient waste product. Clean, dry styrofoam can be recycled in Seattle (visit www.styrorecycle.com for more information), but few other places, and dirty or wet styrofoam cannot be recycled.

Shredded styrofoam

We take dirty or wet styrofoam from retired dock floats, spa covers, and elsewhere, grind it to sediment size, and mix with organic medium to produce a green roof growing medium that is chemically neutral and lightweight. Please contact us if you have dirty or wet styrofoam, and help keep this harmful product out of landfills.
